Buried in the never ending Trump news cycle is major stories unfolding about the media and it is stirring up interest.
Bill O’Reilly is out at Fox News. Sinclair is closing in on it’s $3.9 billon deal to purchase Tribune. The disgraced media giant Rodger Ailes has passed away, all signs pointing to a media shake-up locally and nationally.
In steps Sinclair Broadcast Group’s Chief Political Analyst Boris Epshteyn, a former special assistant to President Donald J. Trump, who appeared on Real Time with Bill Maher. Epshteyn will serve as a political commentator for Sinclair’s 173 television stations.
According to Variety:
Epshteyn left the White House last month amid reports that he had developed a contentious relationship with the producers and journalists that were key to his job arranging news media interviews for White House surrogates.
It is interesting to watch the Russian-born American and Republican political strategist come out and make an open conservative argument and discuss the ownership groups interests with Maher.
